Bordeaux and beyond: wine and cognac tasting

We also went wine tasting in one of the wineries in St.Emilion and then on the last day we went to Cognac to visit Hennessy for some exxy cognac tasting.

St.Emilion, such a cute little town and full of history - we visited an underground church, I'm kinda standing on top of it for this shot.
After a day of wine tasting and walking around St.Emilion (mmm fresh macarons), we sat down for a bit of coffee - cool french coffee!

Our last day was spent in Cognac, this ferry takes you across to the warehouses from the main office (where you pay).
Tis private property see? ooOOoOOo

Ye olde barrel o Cognac (well this one isn't really).

A selection of fine cognacs in the Hennessy shop. Note the magical Ellipse bottle in the glass case in the middle, vintage and exxy!
I paid €40+ to try the grand master of cognac tasting. Note the Richard is the exxy one and it becomes smoother, mellower and older from left to right. Funnily enough, the scent and taste of XO appealed to me more than the others.
